Golden Rooster
Movement Notes:
Start in Basic Stance
1. Bring Hands in to Chest, palms in (inhale)
2. Press to the side with two hands, palms outwards (exhale). This is called Bird Prepares to Dip Wing.
3. Move the right hand up above the head, the left hand down to the side. Palms face the direction of movement (inhale).
4. Hands come in to belly, as if holding a ball (exhale). Keep this nice and low.
5. Step a little to the right into a long stance with the right leg. (Inhale as leg comes up, exhale as place foot and weight transfer.)
6. Pivot on the balls of the feet to the left, into the other long stance (inhale); move the left hand above the head on the outside, into a Repulse Monkey position like a head block (exhale). The right hand drops down and points to the toes.
7. Step up into basic stance, let the hand come down.
Hints and tips:
Keep your joints loose. Keep your steps nimble and your mind flexible.
As you step up to basic stance to start again, keep going to the left. As the hand comes down into a basic stance, use the dropping hand to relax head, shoulders, chest etc as the hand passes that area.
